Why tarnish the image of Dr. Zakir Naik?
This refers to the article "Zia to Zakir" (INKSIGHT by Mehmood-ur-Rashid). I congratulate the author for the articulation and craft used by him to shape his prejudice to belittle, discredit and disrespect a world renowned scholar Dr. Zakir Naik. I can not say that the author is a novice or immature, because the wit, wisdom and the vocabulary vouchsafes for his knowledge of journalism and intellect too. But, without fear of contradiction, he is obsessed with prejudice which has lead him to a misdirection. The author is right in saying that Islam does not need help from Dr. Naik, but he forgets the fact that people like him or me as also from other faiths live here, who because of lack of knowledge about tenets of Islam and its puritan form, are doing more damage that service to Islam but even to humanity. Dr.Naik is needed for the mankind the world over with the message from Holy Quran and our beloved Prophet,PBUH. Thanks to Allah, he has made people world over to accept that Islam is the Greatest Religion. One wonders, if millions globally regardless of their ideology or faith, on the strength of logic, reason, rationale and all religious scriptures, are taking Dr Naik as a torch bearer, how wisdom to the contrary has dawned on the author of the article.
