Core Group reviews security

Jammu, June 26: A Core Group of Army, BSF, CRPF and Police Saturday reviewed the security situation ahead of Amarnath pilgrimage, commencing July 1, here.
“The meeting was jointly chaired by the General Officer Commanding 16 Corps and Security Advisor Lieutenant General Rameshwar Roy,” Army’s Jammu based spokesman Lt Col Biplab Nath said.
He said the meeting was attended by senior civil, police and Army officers which included Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, IG CRPF, IG Railways, DIG Police Jammu, DIG BSF, DIG CID, Joint Director IB and other officials.
General Officers Commanding of various formations affiliated to 16 Corps were also present, he said, adding the meeting reviewed the security situation in Jammu region in wake of the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra.
The Security Advisor, according to the spokesman, complimented the security forces, intelligence agencies and civil administration for achieving highest degree of synergy, coordination and efficiency in handling the Internal security situation in Jammu region.
“Zero Tolerance to human rights violations by security forces must continue to be ensured at all costs with emphasis on conduct of joint operations,” the defence spokesman quoted security advisor as having said.
