CRPF firing evokes condemnation

Srinagar, June 26: Various political organizations have expressed outrage over the killing of two civilians, Shakeel Ahmad Ganai and Firdous Ahmad, in the CRPF firing on Friday at Sopur in north Kashmir.
 Condemning the killing, the Jama’at-e-Islami alleged that the government had given a freehand to its armed forces to kill civilians. It expressed solidarity with the families of martyred youth and prayed for the speedy recovery of injured.
 The Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement, while condemning the killing, termed it as an inhuman act. A party delegation visited SKIMS, Soura, and SMHS, hospital, and enquired about the health of injured persons.
 Condemning the killing, the Muslim League Jammu Kashmir termed it a barbarous act.
 The Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Bashir-ud-Din, while condemning the killings, has appealed the people to the come on roads and protest against these inhuman acts.
 Condemning the firing and killing of civilians, the Democratic Liberation Party chairman Hashim Qureshi appealed to the people to raise their voice against “state terrorism.”
 Mahaz-i-Azadai has strongly condemned the killings and appealed to the people to make Sopur Chalo programme on Monday a success.
 Democratic Freedom Party, Peoples’ Democratic Front (S), Awami National Conference and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum have also condemned the killing, terming it inhuman and barbaric.
