Retirement benefits
This refers to the insensitive approach of government towards the retired employees who have retired after 1st January, 2006. My father retired in the year 2008 and in the year 2009 after renovating our forefathers residential house we performed the engagement my two sisters. I can’t narrate the pain we have gone through. After serving Government for 37 years with honesty and dedication my father had to face huge problems. We took debts keeping in view the retirement benefits of our retired father. The retirement benefits were paid in partial and a portion of the amount was kept withheld by the Government. Retirement benefits are given to the retirees to pay debts, to marry children or to start a business for himself or for children after retirement. Law also does not permit to withhold the service benefits. Is this the way honest are punished or is it better to be corrupt as children of such people at least don’t suffer.
