Situation back to ‘90s: Dilawar
‘Government non-existent on ground’
Srinagar, June 26: The General Secretary of opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Muhammad Dilawar Mir on Saturday accused the Government of failing to protect lives and property of the people.
In a statement, Dilawar Mir strongly condemned the killing of youth, saying that the law and order situation in the state has totally collapsed and the people especially the youth feel insecure.
“The government seems totally non-existent on the ground and the situation has reverted to post 1990. The wanton arrest of youth in Srinagar and atrocities on rural populace has turned the Valley into hell. Ironically instead of punishing the guilty, Government is using oppressive measures to suppress peoples’ anguish and sentiments which causes further resentment,” he said.
Mir said that Omar led Government “has lost its authority and credibility. Even the current situation did not sensitize the CM who preferred to holiday in Ladakh and Gulmarg. Such a careless attitude only reflects his non seriousness towards the affairs of a sensitive state like Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
