CM approves Rs 105 cr for roads, bridges

Srinagar, June 28: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today released Rs. 105 crore for the construction of important road and bridge projects in both the divisions of Kashmir and Jammu under the new innovative Projectisation programme started last year in the State to speed up the pace of execution on important road communication schemes. During the current year, Rs. 210 crore has been provided in the Annual Plan for R&B Sector under Projectisation and the Chief Minister approved release of 50 percent of the funds to ensure launch of work urgently, an official statement said. The Projectisation scheme also assures flow of funds for completion of projects in a time bound manner and quick and visible results on the ground.  The State Government in pursuance of the decision taken at the recently held meeting between the Chief Minister and Chairman Planning Commission of India, earmarked substantial amount for the current financial year for implementation of schemes under Projectisation mode. The Projectisation programme in the R&B Sector last year resulted in visible and useful on-ground implementation of projects and schemes relating to the upgradation of roads in the State.
