Soz takes on Sagar albeit craftily

‘LAW AND ORDER POLICE’S RESPONSIBILITY’

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, June 28: Disproving, Jammu and Kashmir Law Minister Ali Muhammad Sagar’s remarks that the CRPF was not obeying the orders of the state government, state Congress chief Prof Saifuddin Soz Monday said the “blame-game at this critical time will complicate the matters further.”
Contrary to his cautious approach towards the coalition sensitivities, Soz in a chiding statement asked Jammu and Kashmir police to declare unequivocally that it is absolutely responsible for maintaining law and order in the state, especially in Kashmir where, “civilian killings have become a routine.”
“The senior minister in the Coalition Government, Ali Muhammad Sagar’s statement that CRPF was not obeying the orders of the Government has not produced any positive results on ground,” Soz said and added that the veracity of the minister’s statement can be verified only when J&K police corroborates the minister’s assertion.
Craftily defending the CRPF, Soz said: “It is imperative for the J&K police to declare that maintenance of peace and law and order is basically its’ responsibility and it is for the police to seek help from whatever quarters it needs.”
“The persons responsible in the system to maintain peace must appreciate, in full measure, that any attempt at blame game at this critical time will complicate matters further,” he said.
Soz appealed the people to respond to the police’s efforts for coordinating the process of restoration of peace law and order in Sopur and elsewhere.
