Work on pedestrian mall kicks off

Srinagar, June 28: MLA Habba Kadal, Shameema Firdous on Monday inaugurated the work for development of pedestrian mall at Khonakhan Dalgate.
On the occasion, Shameema said it was the consistent demand of locals and hoteliers to develop the pedestrian mall. She said the total cost of the project was 74 lakhs and in the first phase 24 lakhs have been approved.
“The project will include fencing, tiling and lighting of the pedestrian mall. After completion of the work, the pedestrian mall will be parallel to Boulevard and emerged as one of the major attraction for tourists and locals,” Shameema said.
