Old Barzulla to get suspension bridge soon: Sogami
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 2: Minister of State for H&UDD and MLA Amira Kadal, Nasir Sogami Wednesday said a suspension footbridge would soon be constructed on Doodhganga at Old Barzulla, an official handout Wednesday said.
“He assured the people that a suspension footbridge would be constructed shortly to pave way for better connectivity between the banks of Doodhganga. He also issued instructions to I&FC Department to remove garbage which has accumulated under the existing footbridge,” the handout said.
He also asked the authorities to make “periodic cleaning of clogged drains a routine affair.” During his tour of the constituency he said: “The encroachments are one of the prime reasons for failure of the drainage system.”
During the tour of Natipora, Rambagh and Old Burzalla, the Minister directed UEED and Drainage wing of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to immediately remove encroachments for making the City’s drainage system effective.
Recent torrential rains waterlogged major portions of uptown colonies putting the residents to great hardships.
At Natipora and Rambagh, he directed the R&B Department to complete blacktopping of inner roads and lanes. At Old Barzulla, the Minister inspected the recently macamadized road stretch and reviewed pace of work on ongoing drain.
