3 witnesses depose

Srinagar, June 3: Three witnesses in Machil fake encounter case deposed before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Sopur on Thursday, sources said.
They said that police recorded the statements of Ghulam Muhammad, Muhammad Yosuf and Abdur Rashid fathers of fake encounter victims Shezhad Ahmed, Reyaz Ahmed and Muhammad Shafi under section 164 (A) CrPC in CJM’s court in north Kashmir.
“Police are in the process of completing legal formalities to seek the custody of the accused Major. He is likely to report at the 15 corps of army headquarters on Friday,” sources added.
Police have already arrested three persons, including a trooper, in connection with the killings and have also registered an abduction and murder case against the trio.
