Srinagar, June 5: The security arrangements for the Prime Minister’s valley visit were finalized in two separate meetings on Saturday here.
A local news agency KMN, quoting sources, said that two high level meetings were held to review the security arrangements being made for the PM’s two day visit starting from June 7.
It said the meetings were chaired by DG Police Kuldeep Khoda and IGP Kashmir Farooq Ahmed in which officials from police, administration and security agencies participated.
It further said that Boulevard Road would be closed for civilian traffic on both days and only the vehicles with special passes from security agencies would be allowed to move on the route.
Security has already been beefed up at vital installations in the state and the SPG team has taken over security of Centaur Lake View Hotel and SKICC.
A day before the Prime Minister’s visit, Unified Command meeting has been called under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to discuss the overall situation in the state.
Local news agency KNS reported that the meeting has been called Sunday morning at SKICC in which Army, police, security and intelligence officials would participate.
