Dog menace

This refers to street dog menace. Dogs attack children and adults alike. Dogs have always been on the Kashmir roads. There are a lot of dumping grounds where butchers bury the remnants of meat. Besides leftover wazawan etc on street corners and empty sites also draw more dogs. Dogs are fairly territorial. Street dogs are really a nuisance for the two wheeler riders particularly at night. In India there are laws banning street dogs. But who has time to implement such laws? Earlier the Municipal Corporation used to kill rogue dogs with poison. This happened long ago. Street dogs are the carriers of a malignant disease called Rabies which makes them more dangerous for small children playing outside. Dogs have an equal right to live on this tiny earth as human beings have. But they pose danger to human life at times. It is inhuman to allow them to thrive and feed on human lives. Government should take immediate action to eliminate rogue dogs for the safety of humans at large.
