BOSE to spy on its employees

PAPER LEAK AFTERMATH

GK NEWS NETWORK

Jammu, June 8: Following recent paper leak case exposing the involvement of officials, Board of School Education is contemplating to spy on its employees.
According to officials, the Board has decided to install Close Circuit TV (CCTV) cameras and listening devices in the secrecy room, strong room and code room which deal with the question and answer papers of class 10th and 12th.
BOSE has already decided to give custody of the question papers to Jammu and Kashmir Bank to ensure that Board officials have little contact with the papers.
“After the paper leak scandal, to simply put it, the Board does not have faith on its employees’ right from a peon to a joint secretary as many people are involved in the racket,” said a senior officer from the Board, on condition of anonymity.
Prof. Desh Bandhu Gupta, Chairman BOSE, said that they will be using modern technology to ensure proper security of the question papers. “It does not mean we are spying on the employees, but it is necessary to pin down the black sheep among them,” said Gupta.
Sources said that officials have also decided that from now onwards the question papers will be issued to the superintendent of the examination on the day of the examination either in the hall or an hour before the start of the examination.
A major scandal had recently surfaced in Jammu involving BOSE officials. During the investigation, the police had unearthed leakage of three question papers of the secondary class and one paper of higher secondary class Part-II and had arrested a government teacher of Miran Sahib. The teacher had taken heavy amount from the students.
Around 42,823 students are appearing for the class 12th while 52,000 are appearing in 10th standard in Jammu region this year.
