GK NEWS NETWORK

Jammu, Mar 10: Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf and Fisheries, Ajaz Ahmad Khan today directed the agencies concerned with the conduct of Hajj to prepare in advance for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage and ensure that the lacunae of past pilgrimages, if any, are plugged.
Chairing a preparatory meeting of officers for the conduct of Hajj -2010, the Minister impressed upon them to ensure that the pilgrims are provided maximum help and assistance during the pigrimage and whatever the problems encountered usually are appropriated and fixed in advance.
Ajaz asked the officers to adopt a strict system of screening for selecting Khadimul Hujaj. He said care must be taken that dedicated officials with missionary zeal are chosen who can serve the Hajiz better. He suggested giving representation to all districts in this so that the Khudaam can serve in a better way. He also suggested special pre Hajj training to these Khudaams before the onset of the Hajj process.
The Minister also directed the State Hajj Committee to pursue the cases of compensation with respective agencies in respect of the 12 Hajjies who expired while performing Hajj last year. He also directed the State Hajj Committee to clear the issues like accomodation, travel, passport, training etc in advance so as to ensure a smooth Hajj for the current year.
Ajaz also directed the State Hajj Committee to get its accounts audited and prepare a Balance Sheet of the same. He made a similar direction to State Waqf Council and other boards so that their audited accounts are put to public scrutiny and feedback.
