Despite demand, Srinagar-Dubai flights not resumed
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Mar 11: After the flights between Srinagar and Dubai were stopped last year, they have not been resumed despite growing demand. Air India Express—a low-cost airline subsidiary of Air India—had started the Srinagar-Dubai flights from February 2009 after a new international terminal was inaugurated at Srinagar Airport by UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi. But following the last year’s economic recession, the flight was stooped and till date has not been resumed. “No, the services on Srinagar-Dubai route have not been resumed,” Director Srinagar Airport said. Of late there has been a surge in the demand from the various quarters of the Valley to resume the flights but the flights continue to be grounded.
