DLSA holds IWD function

Budgam, Mar 11: The District Legal Service Authority here on Tuesday organized a function on International Women’s Day in the District Court Complex. 
 Many people including women, lawyers and Anganwari workers participated in the programme. The speakers highlighted the importance of the Day and made women aware about their rights. 
 A Lok Adalat was also held wherein MACT and other cases pending in the courts of District Judge, CJM and Munsiff Budgam were taken up. A total number of 110 cases were taken up out of which 47 cases were settled amicably. An amount of Rs 1,35,000 as compensation was awarded in the MACT cases and Rs 19300 recovered as fine.
