RBI for 100 pc financial inclusion through ICT initiatives

Srinagar, Mar 11: As part of its Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, the Reserve Bank of India will conduct an outreach programme at Debrah village in Udhampur on March 13. Shyamala Gopinath, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India will grace the occasion.
The programme is intended for reaching out to people who live in remote villages, with the mission of achieving 100 per cent financial inclusion through ICT initiatives.
The villagers of Debrah, Self Help Groups and farmers' clubs in and around the village would participate in the outreach programme. Prominent dignitaries from banking and civil administration will also be attending the function, the bank in a statement said. During the Programme, Deputy Governor will distribute smart cards to account holders. Material towards furthering financial education and literacy would be distributed and facility of exchange of mutilated notes would also be provided to the general public.
