Srinagar, Mar 13: A local Court on Saturday framed charges against the accused in Romana case under section 302, 34, 294, 201 RPC.
The Court of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Gous-un-Nisa in her order observed that on prima facie the case has been made under section 302, 294, 34, 201 RPC.
The Court framed the accused Shoaib Daryeel son of Muhammad Ashraf Daryeel of Nowhatta and Ubaid Ahmed Khan son of Zahoor Ali Khan of Bulbul Bagh Barzulla under charges of murder and eve-teasing.
The prosecution was represented by public prosecutor Abdul Aziz Teli.
The defence counsel for the two accused had argued that the death of teenager girl on the City outskirts last year took place due to a car accident and trail to be heard under section 304A.
However, his argument was contended by the prosecution who termed it a murder case and submitted before the Court that the accused be booked under section 302, 294, 201 and 34 RPC.
The public prosecutor said ample evidence on record was available, which established that it was a cold blooded murder.
17-year-old Romana was crushed to death by two car borne eve-teasers last year in Barzulla locality where she had gone for tuitions.
Police had arrested the duo accused and seized the Alto-car used in the crime.
