CM to inaugurate Rangil water project today

Srinagar, Mar 14: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will inaugurate the Rangil water project in Ganderbal on Monday.
The Rs 31 crore water supply project has been completed by Economic Reconstruction Agency and it would be handed over to Public Health Engineering department on Monday.
The ERA spokesman Rangil project would provide water supply to 2.39 lakh population scattered over a region from Zakura to Pampore.
“The areas benefited include Khulmulla, Zakura, Owantabavan, Bakshipora, Tengpora, Mujgund, Parimpora, Lawaypora, Shalteng, colonies around Bypass, JVC, Malroo, Palpora and Sangam,” he said.
He said the company, under the Rangil water supply project, had laid 51.63 km long water supply pipeline which has been tested for efficiency.
“We have also installed electromagnetic and mechanical flow meters at the control room of the Plant and at bifurcation points to regulate water supply as per demand,” he added.
He said the Rangil filtration plant has a water carrying capacity of 10 MGD.
