Trooper ends life

Jammu, Mar 14: A trooper ended his life by shooting himself with his service weapon at Mughal Maidan area of mountainous Kishtwar district on Sunday. Sources told Greater Kashmir that 26-year-old, Sepoy Gowardhan Ram, of 11 RR shot himself while on guard duty in a camp.
Hearing the shots, army personnel rushed to the spot and saw their colleague in the pool of blood, they said adding, the trooper was shifted to the nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
While police registered a case, army has also initiated an internal probe to ascertain the cause of suicide, sources said adding, “A suicide note has also been found from the possession of decease which was being examined”.
Ram, who belongs to Jodhpur in Rajasthan, was in service for the last six years.
