Sectt employees suspend work
GK NEWS NETWORK
Jammu, Mar 15: Work in the civil secretariat remained paralysed for an hour following a token strike by the civil secretariat employees here on Monday.
Led by Nazir Ahmed Mir president Non-Gazetted Civil Secretariat Employees Union, the secretariat employees assembled inside the premises and boycotted works from 9.30 am to 10.30 am.
Raising slogans, the employees staged protest demonstrations in the secretariat compound to press for their demands.
They were demanding release of arrears of the sixth pay commission, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years and release of HRA. After one hour of token strike and protest, the employees resumed their work.
Nazir Ahmed Mir told Greater Kashmir; “It was our token strike to press for our demands”.
He added, “We protested to express our resentment against the government. Though we are hopeful with the scheduled meeting on March 19.”
Pertinently, NGCSEU had not joined the recent five-day strike called by Employees Joint Consultative Committee and Employees Joint Action Committee.
