JKRTI Movement convenor flays activists’ arrest
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar: The activists of J&K RTI Movement took to the streets here on Tuesday in protest against the arrest of five colleagues by police on the ‘directions’ of a politician in Chadoora Budgam.
Demanding immediate revoking of the charges against these activists, the convener of J&K RTI Movement, Dr Muzaffar Bhat appealed the Chief Minister to intervene personally into the incident.
“The CM assured us of verification into the incident through CID, but we fail to understands as to why the police arrested our activists on March 12 on false and frivolous charges of theft, arson assault in Branwar Chadoora,” he said adding the FIR says that RTI activists beat up women, men and stole two mobiles, Rs 3800 in cash which is all baseless.
On one hand CNN IBN confers citizens Journalist award to us and on the other, we are booked under cases of theft and arson, he added.
