Rajouri, Mar 18: The controversy erupted between the coalition partners of Jammu and Kashmir government, National Conference and Congress on Wednesday in border district Rajouri over the hoardings and publicity posters published by health department under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in connection with a health mela being organised by the department in district Rajouri on march 22 . The department has published only the photographs of state health cabinet minister Sham Lal Sharma and his brother Madan Lal Sharma (M P) Poonch Rajouri while the photo graph of N C minister Javaid Ahmed Dar was not published at the posters and hoardings pasted by the department in district Rajouri.
Resented over the issue, most of the hoardings were removed by the N C workers during the night . However, National Conference district secretary, Perveiz Ahmed Khan refused to have removed any hoarding but expressed his displeasure over the missing of N C minister’s photograph in the hoardings and published by the department . He said he will take up this matter with the party high command . On being contacted a senior Congress leader wishing not to be mentioned said that some officers were pleasing the group of ministers for their pety interest creating mistrust between the coalition partners . He said at least the department should not dare to ignore a minister of the same department belonging to other political party .Health mass media officer Rajouri , Sadiq Khan said that some of the hoardings of the department were removed by unknown hands over the night after the same were displayed at the various public places. However he refused to comment over the missing of photograph of state minister belonging to NC at the hoardings and other posters . When contacted chief Medical Officer Rajouri , Ved Parkash Sharma admitted that the photograph of the minister of state must be included in the hoardings and other publicity material . “ I don’t think that the photograph of MOS was missing in the posters and hoardings published by the department . I will definitely check it”, said CMO . When he was told that the hoardings and posters were with Greater Kashmir news paper , CMO opted to keep quite and said that he will check again .
The government of india’s health mela is organised in the rural areas of the district through which the people are provided free of cost medicines and eye ailments are treated for which the government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 8 lakh for each mela . As per the guide lines this mela is organised in the rural areas but the department of health in Rajouri district has proposed this mela at Sunderbani town which is an other violation of the guide lines said a medical officer posted in Rajouri wishing not to be named . Under this mela scheme, the expersts also educate the people about the family planning schemes and most of the sterilization operations are conducted on the spot , he added.
