Dr Farooq, others pay tributes to Ittoo

Srinagar, Mar 18: National Conference president and union minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah today paid glowing tributes to the former assembly speaker and slain party leader Wali Muhammad Ittoo on his 16th death anniversary.
Dr Farooq, according to NC statement, said Muhammad Ittoo lived a graceful life and devoted his energy to the peoples’ welfare. “He was a straightforward politician interested in the uplift of downtrodden people,” he said.
The chief minister Omar Abdullah, party general secretary, Sheikh Nazir Ahmad and scores of other leaders have paid tributes to Ittoo for his unforgettable services to the party and people.
NC RENDERED SACRIFICES FOR JK PEOPLE: SAGAR
The Rural Development Minister, Ali Muhammad Sagar today said the National Conference had given innumerable sacrifices and introduced several welfare programmes for the J&K people.
Addressing public at Damhal Hanjipora, in connection with the observance of anniversary of Wali Muhammad Itoo, he described Itoo as an upright leader and said the deceased believed in gross root politics.
Sagar announced a model village at Dhamal and laid foundation stone of a hospital. The Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo said her father devoted his life for peoples’ welfare and National Conference has always advocated the cause of people in right perspective.
The Forest Minister, Mian Altaf highlighted the role played by Wali Muhammad Itoo as NC leader and speaker. The Agriculture Minister, Ghulam Hassan also paid tribute to Ittoo.
