Kalakote mine workers resume work

Jammu, Mar 18: Workers of Kalakoate coal mine in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir have called off their 15-day chain hunger strike today after the intervention of Minister for Industries and Commerce Surjit Singh Slathia.
 They were demanding implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations, an official statement said here.
 Addressing the workers at Kalakote, the Minister made it clear that benefits of the 6th pay commission recommendations cannot be extended to the loss making corporations at this stage adding the final decision about the matter is under consideration of the government.
