Misreading Marx
This refers to the article titled “Tribute to Karl Marx” by Aarzoo Khan. It was a masterpiece. The author has rightly mentioned the contribution of great philosopher and also dispelled the misconceptions about his philosophy. Karl Marx indeed was a great philosopher, but we must not forget that he came up with some controversial ideas. There are some universal facts which you can’t refute. While Khan has mentioned some of Marx’s achievements, but hasn’t said that Marx advocated violence and believed that socialistic ambitions can be achieved by violence. Marx believed in coercion. This was against the persuasion approach which Islam teaches us. Marx judged life by the yardstick of materialism and believed in eternal hostility between capital and labour. Materialism is not the only thing that humans need.
