Auto-rickshaws charge arbitrarily

WE THE SRINAGARITES

GK NEWS NETWORK

This refers to the condition of transport especially rickshaws in Srinagar. The Autowalas charge as per their likings and wishes. There is no meter system in the auto-rickshaws and nobody cares for that.
If at all there is any meter visible in some old cabs, they are non-operational or disabled, never put to use. Here we have no idea of systematic transport fares.
Either there are no laws for the autos or they don’t know of any and as such do not abide by them.
The government officials also don’t take any action against it. Let the government especially the transport department wake up and frame some much needed rules for the rickshaw fares so that people don’t suffer at the hands of the rickshaw drivers or face any humiliation.
