Major obstacles

This refers to the article titled “Degrading the soul of a helpless female” by Abdul Rashid Malik (GK 18-03-2010). I partly agree with the writer’s assertions. The laws are already there, but they are not being implemented in a right manner. The author has rightly pointed out that the major obstacles in rape cases are due to poor quality of investigations and inefficiency of the police. Failure of law reflects the failure of the society. Hence there is a need to overhaul the entire structure of justice so that the helpless victims get what they deserve.
