Srinagar, Mar 22: Khawaja Ali Muhammad Malik, a prominent businessman and grandfather of Greater Kashmir’s Associate Editor, Javid Malik passed away on Monday after a long spell of illness.
 Family sources said the octogenarian was undergoing treatment for various ailments for past few years. He breathed his last on Monday afternoon.
 The deceased was father of Deputy Director of Handicrafts (Ministry of Textiles), Shaheen Mushtaq.
 People from different walks of life participated in the deceased’s Nimaz-e-Jinaza. The body was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard near Polytechnic College Gogji Bagh.
 The staff of Greater Kashmir and Kashmir Uzma, Jammu bureau have condoled the demise and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
 Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in a statement has expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
 Hurriyat leader Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam extended his condolence to the Javid Malik.   The officers of the Office of Dev Commissioner Handicrafts have expressed sympathies with Shaheen Mushtaq.  
 His Rashm-e-Chahrum will be held at 10 am on Thursday (March 25) at his ancestral graveyard near Kashmir Government Polytechnic College Gogji Bagh.
