Karan Nagar traders plea

Srinagar, Mar 23: The shopkeepers of Town Hall Complex Karan Nagar on Tuesday said: “Despite assurances government had failed to dismantle a building in front of their business establishments hampering their business.”
 The aggrieved shopkeepers told Greater Kashmir that they were shifted from Haft Chinar as their shops were demolished for road widening. They said the Government had rehabilitated them in the Town Hall Complex in 2000.
 “But a building in front of the Complex which is under the road widening scheme, has not been dismantled. This has affected our business prospects besides hampering smooth flow of traffic,” they said.
 They said the senior government officials had recently visited the spot and acknowledged inconvenience to them due to presence of the building. “We make a fervent appeal to the Government to look into the matter,” they said.
