Unjust strike
Release of 6th Pay Commission arrears and enhancement of retirement age are two main demands of employees for which they often go on a strike. The Jammu and Kashmir Government, on the other hand is dependent on plan funds of Rs.5500 Cr. Per-annum to manage the salary of 4.5 lakh employees at Rs. 1800 Cr per-year. The question arises about the contribution of these employees in generating resources to meet even their own salaries or production of concerned department. State lacks accountability and reports of AG speak volumes about inefficiency, under productivity and mismanagement of funds besides technical bankruptcy. It is observed that neither they are punctual, nor devoted to duty. It is high time for the Government to reduce the staff by voluntary retirement and privatize the departments of Education, CAPD, Transport, all PSU's, Tourism, Sheep, Poultry, Fishery, Floriculture and Industry. Full day engagement of these employees in private shall ensure peace on streets, production, leading to prosperity and ultimately to profitability. Enhancement of retirement age and unemployment will automatically get solved as it will be now survival of fittest. The menace of Dadagiri or Unionism will also be nipped in the bud.
