‘Re-organization of LC under consideration’

Jammu, Mar 25: Minister of State for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, has said the re-organization of J&K Legislative Council has been under process in the Law Department for some time.
He said, in this regard, the Legislative Council Secretariat has submitted a proposal for creation of 28 posts in different categories to the Law Department.
He was replying to a question by Vijay Bakaya in the House today.
In lieu of the said proposal of the Council Secretariat, the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, recommended 5 posts for creation in the Council Secretariat and accordingly, the matter was with the Finance Department for their concurrence.
He informed the House that in the meanwhile, the Legislative Council Secretariat submitted another proposal to the Law Department for creation of 67 posts in different categories, including 7 posts in Gazetted category and 60 posts in Non-gazetted category. He said that the Finance Department conveyed their concurrence for creation of 40 posts in the Legislative Council Secretariat, 2 posts in the Gazetted category and 38 posts in Non-gazetted category with the condition that the department shall check the exact pay scales of the posts and also obtain approval of the cabinet to the proposed creations. He said that the creations have remained under consideration of the department and had been processed at various stages but did not materialize so far.
