4,000 DOCTORS POSTS TO BE FILLED SOON

Jammu, Mar 25: The Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib, has said the government has recently sanctioned 4000 posts of doctors in different disciplines. He said these posts would be filled up within couple of months.
 Replying to the discussion on the working of Medical Education Department, in the Legislative Council today, Chib said in order to improve the functioning of the sector, the Chief Minister has constituted two Task Forces for Srinagar and Jammu.
 He said in addition to establishing super specialty hospitals in the State, several disciplines in the GMC Jammu have been upgraded to provide adequate and required treatment and diagnostic facilities to the people.
 Responding to the complaints of the members that sub standard diet is being provided to the patients in GMC, Chib said, an enquiry would be conducted in the matter to see as to how diet supply contract has been allotted to a particular firm, repeatedly for 10 years.
