Patients deceived
This refers to Dr. Taha Rafiq’s article titled “Mal-Practice:Patients deceived” (GK 20-03-2010) and its response by Mr. Pandith (GK 23-03-2010). It is a matter of serious concern that some diagnostic centers practice quackery thereby risking the lives of gullible patients. A few days back, on the advice of a doctor, I was asked to do an abdominal USG by a valley-based diagnostic Center. The USG report duly signed by the Sonologist of the Center locates and detects my gall bladder (GB) as “normal in size, shape and ecotexture with no wall thickness and calculus”. As a matter of fact my GB has been removed (Cholcystectomy done) some more than 15 years back. Such medical negligence is criminal and more dangerous than the unholy nexus pointed out by Dr. Taha Rafiq. Sparing such Centers is itself a criminal act for these quacks play with the lives of the patients by making, producing and presenting wrong, false and fraudulently fictitious reports. Has anybody any further views regarding these quacks and their quackery centers?
