KCDS to fight moral waywardness

Srinagar, Mar 27: The Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCDS) on Saturday decided to start a Valley-wide awareness programme to eradicate the moral waywardness and increasing crimes.
In a meeting, which was attended by various members of the civil society here, the members resolved to fight to end “the culture of impunity” at the state and societal level and create awareness among the general public about the moral values and ethics.
The members resolved they would hold workshops, seminars, awareness camps in colleges and schools across the Valley. They also decided to engage the heads of the educational and religious institutions in their campaign. “We will impress upon the religious leaders and prominent religious scholars to support the cause and to inculcate moral values and principals in the children from the very beginning,” they observed.
Head of the KCSDS Dr Hameeda Nayeem, Greater Kashmir columnist, Z G Muhammad, Prof Nasir Mirza, social activist, Anwar Ashai and Prof Basheer Ahmad also attended the meeting.
