KU hosts workshop on industry linkage

Srinagar, Mar 27: The Kashmir University’s Department of Food Science and Technology on Saturday organized an interactive session on Institution and Industry.
The session was organized at KU’s Ibn-e Khaldoon Auditorium to provide a common platform to scientists, technologists, entrepreneurs and financial institutions to assess the problem faced by food processing industry in the state and to work out probable solutions for the same.
The Dean, Academic Affairs, Prof A.R Yousuf presided over the function. The KU Registrar, Prof. S. Fayaz appreciated the department for organizing the session. He said education cannot be isolated from society.
The Director Horticulture, Dr. GH Shah gave details about production of different fruits and availability of raw material to food processing industries.
Speaking on the occasion coordinator Department of Food Science and Technology, Prof. F.A Masoodi gave an overview of the department and deliberated upon the scope of food processing sector.
Abdul Rouf, Vice President J&K Bank gave an account of the assistance being offered by the Bank.
