Army to deploy intelligence men along LoC
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
Jammu, Mar 28: With the apprehensions of an increase in infiltration this summer, the army has gone for deployment of intelligence personnel along with regular troops and modern devices to counter it.
“The security set-up along Line of Control has been strengthened. For the first time intelligence persons and units have been deployed along the LoC with Pakistan to collect advance and target oriented inputs on infiltration,” senior security officials told PTI.
Tactical deployment of forces has been done along the LoC to check militants from crossing over, officials said.
The forces have taken other steps like electrification of 3-tiered border fencing and installation of heat sensing electronic gadgets and night vision devices (NVDs).
“As another tier of security inside the LoC, police have set-up border posts for generating local intelligence to foil infiltration bids,” they said.
