Follow Islamic tenets: Maulana Nadvi
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Mar 28: Noted Islamic scholar Maulana Allau-ud-Din Nadvi on Sunday urged Muslim world to strictly follow the tenets of Islam. Addressing an Islamic congregation for women organized by Dar-uz-Zikra here, he said: “Muslims around the globe are facing hegemony at the hands of un-Islamic powers which has led to the rise of secularism. Contemporary Muslims are fast adapting western culture which goes against Islam and we need to fight it out.”
He said the Muslims must have faith in Almighty Allah and they should follow Islam in letter and spirit. “It (Western culture) is un-Islamic and we shall distance ourselves from it.”
He said conspiracies were being hatched against the Muslim world and it was the duty of believers to counter it. The western world, he said, was “promoting waywardness in the name of women empowerment.” Therefore, Muslim women must stay out of it.”
Criticizing various Muslim countries, he said, “They are only Muslim dominated countries, but none of them is an Islamic Republic in true sense. Muslim countries have no dearth of resources, wisdom or human resources, but we still lag for we don’t follow the basic tenets of Islam.”
