New forest policy to conserve green wealth: Altaf

Jammu, Mar 28: New forest policy 2010 will focus on conservation of existing forest land, Minister for Forest and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad said.
“The conservation of existing forest land is of equal significance to save the green wealth and wildlife besides maintaining balance on massive scale will be the focus of new policy,” Altaf said while addressing a symposium-cum-Interactive meet of Forest Protection Committees at Mansar.
Referring to the importance of role of people in preserving the forest wealth, he said “all of us have to contribute to restore the pristine glory of gradually degrading forests, environment and water bodies.”
