Jora speaks Dal beautification in LA

Jammu, Mar 2: Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora on Tuesday informed the House in Jammu that the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) was formulating a project for beautification of Nishat Pipe Line Bund.
 An official handout quoting the Minister said: “Under the project, various beautification works would be taken up to attract tourists visiting to area.”
 Replying to a question, raised by MY Taing in Legislative Council, the Minister said that Sona Lank, spread over an area of two kanals, has been an island in the Dal Lake and Ropa Lank, known as Charchinari, spread over an area of three kanals, are maintained by the Floriculture Department from landscape point of view.
 Jora said that Tourism Department has renovated the Sona Lank after it was vacated by the troops adding a proposal for its complete renovation is under active consideration. He said the pristine glory of Charchinari has been restored by utilizing Rs.46 lakhs.
