KU Prof bags UGC award

Srinagar, Mar 2: Prof Nadeem, Dean, Faculty of Education, Kashmir University has been awarded the prestigious UGC National Sarawati Award by the University Grants Commission in New Delhi, a KU handout Tuesday said.
“The award was given by D Purandeswari, Minister of State for HRD, Government of India while as Prof Sukhadeo Thorat, Chairman UGC, Prof Ved Prakash, Vice-Chairman UGC & Prof RK Chauhan, Secretary UGC were present on the occasion,” it added. The award carried a citation, a shawl and Rs.50,000 cash.
The citation of the award reads: “Prof NA Nadeem is well known in academic circles for his innovative approach in teaching, learning assessment and evaluation. He has facilitated the introduction of team teaching. He has developed and standardized ten psychological tests which are now widely used by the researchers all over country.”
Prof. Nadeem has authored five books. He is on the panel of experts for around fifteen Indian universities. He is the Chief Editor of two leading research journals, namely Insight & Kmr. Journal of Teacher Education. Prof. Nadeem has visited a number of foreign Universities including those in South Asia and South-East Asia.”
