Mirwaiz leaves for Saudi

Srinagar, Mar 2: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, left for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
“Mirwaiz left for New Delhi this morning and will fly to Saudi Arabia tomorrow to perform Umrah,” a Hurriyat spokesman said in a statement here.
He said the senior Hurriyat leader, Prof Abdul Gani Bhat would be the conglomerate’s acting chairman during Mirwaiz’s 2-week stay at Saudi.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the conglomerate was held at its headquarters here wherein the members condemned the disproportionate use of force by troopers during an encounter in Chinkipora, Sopur last week, the spokesman added.
