BJP MLAs among 60 held

Jammu: Three legislatures of Bharatiya Janta Party among at least 60 activists of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Morcha courted arrested on Monday after they tried to gherao secretariat, against government move to ban inter-district recruitment.
Led by three BJP MLAs, hundreds of ST/SC Morcha activists staged a demonstration at Shalamar Chowk and later tried to march towards the secretariat.
A strong contingent of police and para-military personnel foiled the attempt of the protestors. They were later put under preventive custody and taken to District Police Line.
Meanwhile, the issue of their arrest was also raised by senior BJP leader Chaman Lal Gupta in the assembly.
