Omar wants private players in job fairs

Jammu, Mar 29: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday called for organizing comprehensive employment fairs involving private sector to make the initiatives taken by the government a success.
“The government is contemplating to open more and more avenues for unemployed to get jobs through Sher-i-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY),” Omar said after inaugurating Jammu District Employment Fair here.
He said that the SKEWPY would prove more productive if private players come forward for on the spot recruitment. “The Employment department needs to rope in industrialists and private investors in such fairs for talent hunt,” he said. “This would serve the dual purpose of on spot recruitment as well as information to the youth about the requirement in private job market.”
He said that government would continue to create job opportunities for educated youth. “We are exploring all other possibilities in this
regard,” he said.
Omar advised the youth to visit such fairs and get full information of the schemes and avenues available to them adding that Government would facilitate them both financially as well as technically. He asked them to take best advantage of SKEWPY and open new vistas in job market for themselves and others.
Omar lays foundation of Psychiatric centre Underscoring the importance of modern medicare facilities in the human life process, the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday vowed to catapult the health and medical education sector of Jammu and Kashmir to number one position in the country.
“Unless the people are healthy, the good work on other important sectors of road communication, education, power, water supply, agriculture etc would not make an impressive impact in development process”, Omar said after laying the foundation of Rs 12.35 crore Psychiatric Centre here.
Omar said that before the disturbances in the state a survey adjudged Jammu and Kashmir as number one in the country but it has slipped down due in past 20 years. “My efforts are to restore this position back to the state and fine tune health and medical education to ensure effective and at par healthcare facilities to the people in both urban and rural areas”, he asserted.
Omar said that NC-Congress coalition Government from day first has concentrated on upgradation of medicare facilities in the state by proper utilization of infrastructure and providing necessary paraphernalia and staff to the hospitals and health centres spread across the state. “We have created large number of posts and many more are being created in health and medical education to expand the ambit of health coverage in the state”, he said.
On importance of Psychiatric Centres in Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Minister said that in past 20-years the number of psychiatric patients had increased manifold. “The depression caused by erratic scenario has engulfed minds to a greater extent increasing the psychiatric problems”, he added saying that Psychiatric Centres would prove effective means to check the onslaught and cure the patients.
