Omar lays foundation of district hospital Samba

Jammu, Mar 4: The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, today laid foundation stone of building for district hospital at Samba.
The 70 bedded Hospital would be completed at a cost of Rs. 9 crore within a period of 2 years by the JK Police Housing Corporation. The project also comprises residential accommodation for doctors and para-medical staff.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister described health as core area and said the Government gives priority to this sector and numerous steps have been taken to upgrade the health facilities across the state.
Omar said that all district hospitals would be fully equipped to reduce the rush in tertiary health care centres. He said that efforts were being made to consolidate the infrastructure to improve the basic facilities, especially in rural and far-flung areas.
Minister for Industries and Commerce, S.S. Slathia, Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Samba, Yashpal Kundal,, Vice Chairperson, SC/ST Swarn Lata, Chief Minister’s Political Advisor, Devinder Singh Rana, Chairman, JCC Bank, Mohinder Singh, Director Health Services, Dr. Jasbir Singh and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
