PMRP enhanced to Rs 31839 cr
SHEIKH AHMED
New Delhi, Mar 5: The central government has enhanced the outlay of the Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Plan for Jammu and Kashmir to Rs 31839 crore.
Responding to a question by the National Conference MP, GN Shaheen in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Planning V Narayanaswamy said the PMRP has been enhanced from Rs 24,000 crore to Rs 31,839 crore. The minister said that the outlay includes both state sector and central projects to be implemented by the state government and the central agencies.
The revised outlay for the state-sector schemes is Rs 6438 crores. The outlay for the CSP is Rs 6268 while the projects taken up by the centre and Public Sector Undertakings is Rs 19132, he said.
Last year the government had informed the assembly that only Rs 6000 crore of the package were spent in the three sectors since its implementation in 2004. The centre had taken a serious note of the shocking revelation and accordingly decided to send central teams to the state to monitor the pace of the execution of the projects.
