PSO dies, another hurt in mishap

Jammu, Mar 5: Personal Security Officer of a former MLA died while another was wounded on Friday when a vehicle, they were travelling in, skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Manthal near Jajarkotli on Jammu-Srinagar highway. The family members of the cops, who were also travelling in the vehicle, however, escaped unhurt.
 The incident occurred when a police Gypsy (JK013-7661) on way from Jammu to Srinagar skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Manthal, resulting in injuries to two cops. Wives of the cops and their two kids however escaped unhurt.
 On receiving the information, a police team rushed the injured persons to Government Medical College here official sources said. They added that one of the injured cops succumbed on way to the hospital.
 His identity has been established as Hafizullah son of Gul Muhammad Paray of Babapura, Kulgam. He was PSO of CPI leader and former MLA Muhammad Khalil.
 The injured was identified as Constable Muhammad Khursheed son of Habibullah of Awantipora, Kashmir. His condition is stated to be stable.
