Introduce Microbiology

This refers to the letter titled "Microbiology Ignored" by Dr Suriya Rehman. I completely agree with her that the subject has been ignored by the policy makers and educationists alike. The subject is of vital importance in today’s world. It is relevant to all fields of life like agriculture, health, food, beverage and pharmaceuticals. The foundation of biotechnology is based on the science of microbiology. This subject has been introduced in every educational institute of India but unfortunately the Government of Jammu and Kashmir is still reluctant to introduce it here in colleges and higher secondary schools. The Government must ponder over this issue.
