3 troopers die in JK

Jammu, May 9: Three troopers died in separate incidents across the Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
A junior commissioned officer was found hanging from a tree in Pathankote, a day after he went missing from his unit, defence officials said today.
The body of 42-year-old Naib Subedar, Mangal Dass was found hanging with a telephone wire in Mamun cantonment last evening. Dass of 8 J&K Light Infantry had gone missing on Friday, they said. The reason behind the death was not immediately known. It is apprehended that he might have committed suicide, they said, adding a court of inquiry has been ordered in the incident.
Meanwhile, the body of a Special Police Officer was found under suspicious circumstances at his official residence in Rajouri on Sunday, police said.
Police recovered the body of Liyaqat Hussain (27) from district police lines and shifted it to hospital where doctors pronounced him brought dead.
A trooper died at Siachen glacier, police said.
Havaldar Suraj Chander of 14 Jat D-Company died at the base camp of the snow-covered frontier region under Nobra police limits, it said adding the cause of death was not ascertained immediately.
