IDKPYF welcomes Prof Mattoo’s appointment

Jammu, May 10: Internally Displaced  Kashmiri Pandit Youth Front (IDKPYF) on Monday welcomed the appointment of Professor Amitabh Mattoo as the Vice-Chancellor of Central University.
 “IDKPYF condemns the attitude of certain individuals for having criticized the appointment of Prof Amitabh Mattoo as Vice- Chancellor,” a spokesman of the Front said in a statement. 
 He said that for some weeks now a small segment of the people have started a nasty hate crusade against Professor Amitabh Mattoo. “He is an icon from J&K in the field of academics, with a D. Phil from Oxford in International Relations and a visiting Professor to universities of international repute, he is one of India’s leading thinkers. Truth is that Professor Mattoo is not new to Jammu, his role of course will be new. During his tenure as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jammu the University he took the innovative decision to spread itself geographically to cover all parts of Jammu region by establishing campuses in various parts of Jammu like Bhaderwah, Kathua, Poonch with satellite campuses in Surankote, Reasi and Patnitop,” the spokesman added.
